A Better Base Camp for Hunting Season
Start early, come back warm, and let Arrowhead Mountain Lodge make hunting season a little easier. Our hunter services include advance grab-and-go meals, early pickup, hot showers, comfortable lodging, and our 2026 harvest-photo contest.
Advance Hunter Meals
Order breakfast, lunch boxes, hot lunches, drinks, sides, and snacks no later than 9:00 p.m. the day before pickup. Choose a pickup time from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Featured options include the $8 Cajun Chicken Wrap, breakfast burritos, pork green chile, pulled pork, hunter tacos, chicken fajitas, coffee thermoses, and more. Prices are subject to 4.9% tax
Hunter Showers
Hunter showers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for $15 per hunter, subject to room availability. Each shower includes one clean towel and use of the shower amenities provided. Please check with the front desk for availability.
2026 Largest-Rack Harvest Photo Contest
Share your harvest with us by submitting a photo no later than November 30. Submitted photos may be displayed in the restaurant, where customers will vote on the largest-rack entries. The winning hunter receives a free steak dinner.

Hunting in Arrowhead and Gunnison Country
Arrowhead Mountain Lodge places hunters in the heart of Colorado’s Gunnison Country, surrounded by rugged mountains, deep forests and outstanding elk and mule-deer habitat.The lodge is located within Colorado Game Management Unit 66. This large mountain unit includes portions of the Gunnison and Uncompahgre National Forests and offers the high-country terrain for which western Colorado is known.
Hunters using Arrowhead Mountain Lodge as their base camp are also close to neighboring units:GMU 65, located west of Unit 66 toward the Uncompahgre Plateau and Montrose.GMU 67, located east of Unit 66 toward Gunnison and the Tomichi Creek area.
Because GMU boundaries, access points, license requirements and hunting regulations vary by species and season, hunters should confirm their exact hunting location before heading into the field. Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Hunting Atlas and current big-game brochure are the best resources for checking unit boundaries, public-land access, season dates and license requirements.
After a long day in the field, return to Arrowhead Mountain Lodge for comfortable lodging, hot food and a welcoming place to relax.
