To Do & See
Summer in Arrowhead
Summer starts when the snow melts. Some years that is as early as the end of April, most years it is as late as the beginning of June. We kick off the season regardless of snow melt on Memorial day weekend.

We enjoy many summer activities such as:
Camping
Pay camp sites at Big Blue Campground and free sites scattered within the National Forest
Dirt & Mt. Biking
Miles of single track riding on the Alpine Plateau, including the Alpine Trail
Mushroom Hunting
The Alpine Plateau has many variety of mushrooms including King Boletes and Hawk Wings
Hiking & Backpacking
Formal Hiking trails around the Big Blue Camground or explore the logging / mining roads on the Alpine Plateau

AML Summer Music Series
We feature live music every Saturday from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend in our Beer Garden from 6pm to 9pm.
Off-Roading
Our trail system is perfect for exploring the Alpine Plateau with an ATV, Side-by-Side, or any 4x4 vehicle. We are an hour and a half ride to Lake City (you must trailer ATVs and side-by-sides on the HWY) where you can go over Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass, or the Alpine Loop.

Rent a Polaris Side-by-side with Arrowhead Mountain Adventures to explore our backyard, the Alpine Plateau!
Fall in Arrowhead
Fall in Arrowhead is "Spectacular!" The Aspen turn a brilliant golden yellow to a deep orange-red. Fall is completely dependent on the type of weather we are having. Leaves can start to change as early as the beginning of August! For the best leaf-peeping, fall height is typically the last week of September through the first week of October.

Hunting season is during this time. We welcome Hunters and are located in Hunting Unit 66, near the border of Unit 65! Our Hunters enjoy warm beds and hot showers within a quarter-mile of public land. Showers are available for those who choose to rough it.

Sides-by-sides are available to rent until October 15th! Rent one to catch all the colors! Arrowhead Mountain Adventures
Winter in Arrowhead
For many of us Arrowhead full-timers, Winter is the BEST! You can access the lodge by vehicle all season, best with snow tires, AWD, or 4WD.
The community of Arrowhead plows the Alpine Plateau Rd from Hwy 50 to their community winter parking lot. From there, the roads are groomed for snowmobiles, tracked side-by-sides, cross country skis, and snowshoes.

Our guests enjoy our drive-in / ride-out location. You can trailer your own snowmobile or you can rent one of our new Polaris Snowmobiles from Arrowhead Mountain Adventures.

The Arrowhead Snowmobile Club grooms over 32 miles on the Alpine Plateau. We host the club's snowmobile poker run in February.
Please note: some years we have winter logger activity, and we adjust our trail to accommodate the logging traffic (8 to 10 trucks per day).
